A Tourism Seminar was organized by Embassy of India on 12 September 2016. Minister of Tourism of Cambodia H.E. Dr. Thong Khon was the Chief Guest at the event which brought tourism operators from India and Cambodia and other stakeholders in the sector together.
In his speech, Tourism Minister Dr. Khon lauded the efforts for holding such events and assured cooperation from Cambodian Government. He noted that tourism between the two countries was growing and hoped that this will improve further in the years to come.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador of India to Cambodia H.E. Naveen Srivastava said that there was a need to create awareness about Cambodia amongst Indians and vice versa. Also, Indian tour operators should highlight several other tourist destinations in India, apart from Buddhist circuit. He laid stress on institutional linkages between Cambodia Association of Travel Agents and tourism organisations in India.
Presentations on Buddhist circuit, Indian tourist destinations and medical tourism, as also Cambodian tourist places were made. The event successfully concluded with colorful cultural performances by Cambodian dancers.
