India helps in detection of mines and explosives

Government of India is gifting 15 sniffer dogs to Royal Government of Cambodia.  These specially-trained dogs will help in detection of mines and explosives and take part in ongoing efforts for removal and destruction of landmine, thereby improving the lives of people living in landmine contaminated areas.

Ministry of Defence, Government of India is organizing specialised training course for Royal Cambodian Armed Forces personnel who will handle the sniffer dogs.General Sem Sovanny,Director General of National Center for Peacekeeping Forces, Mine and ERW Clearance (NPMEC) and Mr. Rajiv Kumar, Second Secretary, Embassy of India, presided over an event on 17 October 2016 to mark the send-off of 15 member team of Royal Cambodian Armed Forces to India.  The team will return to Cambodia on 9 November 2016 along with sniffer dogs.
