141st Birth Anniversary of Sardar Patel & Rashtriya Ekta Diwas
On 4 November 2016, Embassy of India, Phnom Penh celebrated the 141st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Members of Indian community gathered in the Embassy to pay tributes to Sardar Patel, architect of unified India.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Naveen Srivastava said that India as it stands today, would not have been possible but for the great contribution of Sardar Patel in bringing together 565 princely states to form the Indian union.
After paying floral tributes, a documentary on the life of Sardar Patel, tracing his humble origins in Gujarat before he qualified as a barrister in England and sacrificing it all later to join Mahatma Gandhi in India’s freedom struggle, was screened.
